Working Together for Haywood County's Future

I'm running for commissioner because I'm ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work on the issues that matter most to hardworking Haywood County families.

Affordable Housing

A Home for Everyone: Safe and affordable housing is the foundation of a strong community. I'll work to expand housing options that fit our diverse needs, from young families to retirees, while safeguarding the character of our neighborhoods.

Partnership-First Approach: Solving our housing challenge requires collaboration between developers, policymakers, community groups, and directly impacted community members. I'm committed to bringing everyone to the table for this discussion so that we can find solutions that work from the bottom up!

Supporting Our Communities

Safe & Healthy Neighborhoods: I plan to work closely with our community leaders, members, and directly impacted folks to address the community health issues that affect us all including the opioid epidemic and addressing homelessness. I will also work with law enforcement to come up with effective solutions for Haywood’s crime problems like prevention and reentry programs.

Family-Focused Policy: I believe that we need to return to the mountain values of putting families first in our policies, no matter what those families may look like. That means increasing access to needs like affordable childcare, housing, transportation, medical care, mental healthcare, and supportive services for our elderly. It also means creating safer environments where families of all makeup feel welcome and accepted.

Building Economic Opportuniy

Smart Growth: Haywood County is changing and fast. We need to make sure that our plan for this growth is a proactive one that responsibly attracts business developments that supply good-paying jobs while preserving Haywood’s historic character.

Workforce Training: I'll work to increase resources for job training and skills development programs, empowering students and residents to succeed in our changing economy.

This is just the start of the conversation.
